The nearby town of Lodi is known for its mascot, Susie the Duck, named for a mallard that laid her eggs and hatched her brood right in the middle of downtown. Since then other ducks have come to the same spot to hatch their ducklings as well. Every summer Lodi hosts Susie the Duck Day, with events that include a parade, carnival midway, and duck derby on nearby Spring Creek.
